Describe your product

We have two products, the first is KidGenius which is a Saas tool for child care centres. It allows operators to keep track of attendance, communicate with parents, share photos etc.

The other product is DaycareIQ which is the largest directory of childcare centres in Canada (16,000 listings) and is set up with AdSense.

Why are you selling the business?

The co-founder and I both work full time in other areas and don’t have time to devote to this project. It needs someone that can sell to new businesses during working hours.

What is included in the sale?

Both web apps (DaycareIQ and KidGenius), an iOS app, Android App, and a new tool still in early development (hardware attendance tracking with key fobs). That includes about 5 raspberry pies, 20 cases, 15 RFID readers and associated pieces (switches etc), plus the software that runs that hardware.

What is the technological stack?

Web app is in ember running on Google Compute (will have to double check with co-founder who does web dev), iOS is swift and android is java. Hardware software is python.

What actions are required to keep the business working?

Could maintain status quo with minimal work (charging customers through Stripe each month) and answering occasional emails. Codebase is quite stable and doesn’t require much work.

How does the business generate revenues?

KidGenius charges based upon number of kids enrolled at daycare ($1/child/month). DaycareIQ is generating revenue through adsense.

What marketing initiatives have been used for this business?

Mostly cold outreach but some Facebook ads.

How can the future owner generate more revenues?

Continue to outreach to new customers (in any country… we’ve focused mostly on Alberta Canada). Add childcare locations in USA to expand DaycareIQ reach.
